Do You Really Think I Eat Twigs and Bark ??

Mar. 23rd 2010

This morning following a presentation on Eating for Energy , I was asked if anything I ate actually tasted good.

Hmmm.  Do people really think I eat twigs and bark just because I teach people how to eat healthy?

Those that know me well, know that I am a foodie at heart.

After all, what’s the point of being healthy if you can’t take pleasure in what you put into your mouth.

That’s a deal breaker in my book and definitely for my clients too.  (And I suspect that’s one of the reasons they like working with me!)

Part of ensuring you have a fabulous future, one that allows you to continue the activities you love well beyond your forties and fifties, is to eat great tasting food that’s also good for you.

And that doesn’t include twigs and bark.

In fact, here’s a peek behind the scenes at this week’s dinner plans in my house:

Grilled Salmon, Broccolini (baby broccoli) and red skinned potatoes

Butternut Squash & White Bean Stew with Tomatoes and Fresh Rosemary

Garlicky Kale, Tomatoes and Mushrooms over Polenta

Thai Vegetable Red Curry over Brown Rice

And since tonight is hockey night and my husband Steve isn’t home, I’m keeping it simple with a Veggie Omelet.

Bon Appetit!

Spring Into Spring Feeling Fab

Mar. 19th 2010

Do you feel as if spring will never, never arrive?

Are you longing for palm trees swaying gently in the tropical breeze?

Does the thought of swimsuit season have you diving back under the down comforter with a handful of cookies?

Quick Tip – Banish the Gloom

Mar. 5th 2010

March in New England is a tough month for this Southern girl.

The weather tends to be dreary day after day.  There is still a strong possibility of snow, sleet or slush.   The earth is brown, the trees are bare and spring is still about six weeks away.

To banish the gloom, I head for the flower market.   It may still be winter outside, but inside there is a riot of spring color- yellow daffodils, pink tulips and purple irises.

One of my favorite low cost ways to spread the sunshine is to get an extra bunch of daffodils and divide it into several bud vases.  Try putting a couple of bud vases on the kitchen window sill,  one on your desk, and one in the bathroom.

Bring a little springtime into your home and feel your spirit and energy soar, which makes it less likely you’ll go for the cookies when the winter blues hit.

Ready to transform your winter blues and get ready for Spring?  Contact me today for a Nutrition Breakthrough Session and let me show you how to put together a personalized nutrition and lifestyle plan that you can stick with.  Normally I charge $127 for this session, but it’s only $57 through March 31, 2010!  Click here to get started.
